2005

LSC's student-run radio station, WWLR, received a threatening phone call from a man who allegedly fired a gun in the background and asked, "Can you hear that?" Two men also showed up at the station and assaulted a public safety officer after being asked to leave. All night shows were cancelled until further notice.

LSC students react to a new statewide ban on smoking in bars and restaurants. At the time, smokers on-campus could smoke on an overhang outside of the library and the gazebo in front of Vail. The Critic informs the community that security cameras had been installed in all of the main computer labs in LAC. The cameras were disguised in a small, grey box that hung from the ceiling. Mike Dente (who continues to work for IT) told the Critic that the cameras - which recorded students as they entered and exited the labs -had been in use since 1995.

I am just so frustrated that I would really appreciate having a higher authority look at what's going on here."

Overall college enrollment is down by approximately 50 students.
