A New Year at LSC
With a new year at LSC, comes new faces, one of these being Steve Gold, interim LSC president.
With new faces comes promising prospects, which is what Gold seems to bring to the table. His sincerity to want to engage the students of Lyndon was apparent as he extended forth a lunch invitation to the students, stating that, "you guys are the most important people on campus."
His recognition of the students' effort here on campus is considerable because the students on LSC campus are extremely involved with their academic community.
Accompanying this lunch invitation Gold urged students, "Let's have a conversation!"
Steve Gold is certainly not letting any time go to waste in his position as president. Delving into extracurriculars as well as student and academic lives, it can be assumed that President Gold shall be a proactive president.
Not only has Lyndon received one new face this year, but another appeared at last nights SGA meeting making introductions. Melissa Nelson, new SGA director, welcomed students to this current year, exclaiming to be, "really excited for this year."
Her eagerness to provide students with accommodating means to reach her was welcoming and assuring. She assured students that she could always be reached via email, and encouraged students to, "stop by and say hi."
Her approachable attitude was not the only enticing aspect of her personality as she also relinquished handy advice to the eager students. She advised students to utilize one of their greatest tools: the student president, she recognized him to be, "the greatest resource that our campus has."
Many students are unaware of the opportunities for aid that they are presented with, and are fortunate enough to have a staff member to point those opportunities out to them. It is safe to say that these new additions to our school will turn out to be proactive staff members whose only goals are to aid the student community.
